Life After Landfall | Exploring the Marquesas Following Our Pacific Crossing

After crossing more than 3,000 miles of Pacific Ocean, we finally had a chance to slow down and enjoy life in the Marquesas Islands.
But life after landfall isn't just tropical anchorages and waterfalls. There were still boat projects to finish, new places to explore, and old friends to reunite with.
Join us as we settle into life in French Polynesia, repair our Code 55 sail, explore Taiohae Bay, sail to the incredible Daniels Bay, hike to Vaipo Waterfall, and spend time with friends while the kids enjoy everything the Marquesas has to offer.
Sometimes the best part of crossing an ocean isn't the crossing itself... it's what happens after you arrive.

Most People Think We’re Crazy… But We’d Do It Again

Most people think we're crazy. We sold the house, left the routine behind, and crossed the Pacific Ocean with our kids. It hasn't always been easy. There have been setbacks, repairs, long passages, and plenty of uncertainty. But there have also been moment...

The View Isn’t The Reason We Crossed the Pacific

Most people think we crossed the Pacific for the turquoise water, remote islands, and incredible anchorages. And while those things are amazing, they're not the reason we made this journey. The real reward has been the people we've met, the experiences we'...

This Made the Delay Worth It

We stayed in Nuku Hiva longer than planned while waiting for the right weather window to sail to the Tuamotus. Then we found ourselves swimming with manta rays. Moments like these remind us that sometimes the unexpected parts of the journey become the mo...
