Christening our sailboat Episode 8
We change anchorages to Comfort Cove. Easton's ear infection is getting worse. Kami gets a gum infection. We clean the bottom of the boat for the very first time and everyone helps. We put up the flags of the Bahamas and also our Sailing Banana Pancakes flag. That night we christen our boat. Steve gives a heart-felt speech and we drink Martinelli's. We sing, dance and cheers to our future sails. Easton's ear infection is so bad that Steve and Kamden take a 5 hour dinghy ride back to the Great Harbour to get medicine and ear drops. We finally lift anchor and head for Nassau, Bahamas.

This is the REAL & RAW reality of living on a sailboat off-grid! Episodes come out every Saturday! Steve & Kami had a dream to buy a sailboat and travel the world when we retired. We spent 15 years working multiple jobs, living BELOW our means, saving every penny we could and investing in real-estate. Well the year of Covid hit and we thought, what the hell let's freaking go, kids and all! The first thing Steve said when he walked onto our boat "It smells like freedom!" We completed our first year of sailing, sold our sailboat Banana Pancakes, in hopes of purchasing a newer one. We didn't find the right boat so we headed back to Idaho. It's been 2 years since then and we are once again ready to go, this time for at least 5 years. We are currently boat shopping and plan on setting sail soon for Seson 2 of Banana Pancakes.
