Our New Boat! #Outremer 52 (Ep.3)

We are excited to reveal our new sailboat, the Outremer 52 performance catamaran. Perfect for liveaboard cruising and our plans to complete a circumnavigation.

We are a 50-something couple originally from the Bay Area, well, Stephane is originally from Brittany France, where the hardcore sailors come from, but we made a life just outside of SF. We made a 5 year plan to get on a boat and sail full time starting in 2020, which is when the last of our 4 kids left the house. Not even a pandemic could stop us and the first two seasons we spent in the Mediterranean were epic!

What we discovered is we like to sail more and motor less and realized if we planned to do a circumnavigation, we probably needed a boat that liked to sail like we do. We are now making the change from a production catamaran to an Outremer 52 and we are super-excited to share our story.

You can listen to our adventures making the transition to liveaboard cruising on our podcast, COVERT CASTAWAY, that streams anywhere you listen, or from the link below. We cover financial planning, selling the house, telling our kids/family and buying our first boat.

Special thanks to Outremer for allowing us to use some of their virtual tour and new renderings - and just for being so awesome to work with! As a reminder, we are not sponsored by Outremer and are paying full price for the boat.

Music by Epidemic Sound.
