Sailing life: Sailing to a new anchorage in the dark? Predeparture procedures
What do you need to do before leaving the dock? We go over a few things that we do before we set sail. Engine checks, battery checks, sanity checks, oh my. Why are the weather predictions never accurate. We set sail early in the morning for our 90 mile journey to our next anchorage, the wind predictions from Predict Wind showed winds of 10-15 knots starting around 10 am. They never happened, it reminded me of something a seasoned cruiser to me in the beginning of our sailing journey. All weather is Local! It is so true, the forecast are just that, forecasts and predictions, they are not reality.
