Living life on anchor in our 1978 Tartan 34 C is wonderful most of the time. We have just about anything we need to live off grid. But when those luxuries break we then have to decide what and how to adjust. Laundry is one of those things. Our water maker recently broke leaving us with limited fresh water. We top our tanks off in each town we stop at or by gracious buddy boats passing by. So saving every last drop of fresh water for drinking allows us to be out in the wild longer. Using salt water to clean our clothes helps. Do the scrubbing and soaking in salt water. It is best if you have a fresh water rinse to release the salt out of the fibers of your clothes. It is amazing the amount of fresh water you save when you substitute at least some of that fresh water usage with salt water.
