Exploring Rudder Cay and abandoned research center on Lee Stocking.
From Musha Cay we had a 3nm bouncy ride in deep water, before heading back on the bank and anchoring behind Rudder Cay, next to a beautiful beach and a very interesting cave. After snorkeling over David Copperfield’s sunken grand piano, we had an exploration walk on the island, to an Atlantic beach and ruined building on the high ground.
From Rudder Cay, another short battle with the Atlantic swell finds us back on the bank and anchored adjacent to the abandoned Caribbean Marine Research center on Lee Stocking island. We spent the afternoon exploring the center which still had a surprising amount of equipment in place. 13-15 Feb 2020
