Arriving to Highbourne Cay, we are finally in the exquisite Exuma islands, catching a grouper fish on the way.
From Cape Eleuthera we have a great sail SW across the deep water to the beautiful shallow blue shoals of the Exuma Islands. On the way, we catch a nice grouper fish for dinner.
Our first anchorage is in Highbourne Cay, where we dinghy to see the iguanas in the Allen’s Cays. With a north wind coming, our next anchorage is just south, behind the small Lobster Cay.
Next day we have a 20nm downwind sail to Warderick Wells in the Exumas Sea & Land National Park. We have some dramas there with the mooring buoy as we sit out another two days of strong winds. But what a beautiful place to find shelter. 19-24 Jan 2020
