In this episode, Herby seals up the huge characteristic windows found on all boats of this size from this era. The large windows are a massive liability in the ocean because the large fragile windows can easily break when smashed by giant waves. Once the windows are broken, subsequent waves will flood the boat’s interior and sink you!
Herby seals up the large holes with fiberglass and polyester resin from @TotalBoat by creating a strong and thick plug on inside. When he works on the deckhouse, he will then do the same on the outside. He also explains why these windows needed to be sealed up now because the inside will be built with epoxy and the outside with polyester.
