On June, 5, 2016 Canadian Ocean Racing departed Newport, Rhode Island on the team’s final journey home on O Canada. After two IMOCA races, a refit in Europe and a challenging Atlantic crossing back involving a run in with a whale, the team was able to safely bring O Canada back home. The team closed the summer of 2016 in Canada with more youth development and programming for the community. At the end of 2016, O Canada was sold by Wind Athletes Canada to a private investor, but the Ocean Racers team continues to sail together and compete internationally on behalf of Canada.
