When Cruising Life Gets Heavy: Finding Our Way Forward
Life aboard isn’t always turquoise water, perfect anchorages, and tropical sunsets.
After spending time anchored in beautiful Bocas del Toro, we found ourselves facing something many cruisers experience but few talk about—the weight of uncertainty. Between the endless projects, changing plans, gloomy weather, and the constant question of “what’s next?”, it’s easy to lose sight of why you started this journey in the first place.
As a family of seven living aboard full-time, we’re at a crossroads. Are we making the right decisions? Is it time for a change? What does the next chapter look like for Motherload?
In this episode, we share the honest side of cruising life, the challenges of raising five kids aboard while navigating uncertainty, and how we’re choosing to leave negativity behind and focus on a new direction filled with purpose and possibility.
Sometimes the hardest part of the adventure isn’t crossing oceans—it’s finding the courage to keep moving forward when you can’t see exactly where the path leads.
