We are on a roll of bonding things with our methacrylate!

Last week we were able to get our cabin top permanently into place, and this week we’re adding the support beams that run fore and aft down the center of the interior. This will help to keep bulkhead 6 in place when we’re sailing, due to the force from the mast trying to pull everything forward.

It also helps to strengthen our cabin top, meaning we now have the ability to walk on top of it! Not that we have done that yet though, because the tarp is still covering it, which makes it extremely slippery.

Once Matt goes through to do the dry fitting and trimming necessary, we wait for the next nice day of weather where we know we won’t have issues with curing. First to go in is the pvc we’re using for conduit for wire runs, and this gets bonded into place with our fast cure methacrylate.

After a 20 minute wait, we do another quick dry fit of the beams and then mix up our slow cure methacrylate in large batches. We have *just enough* to eek by on this project, but by the end of the day, both of them are securely in place and curing.

Now for even more exciting projects to come, now these are done, like building out our raised helm!!
