TRANSDUCER FAIL?! TOTAL POWER LOSS?! ⚡ Circumnavigating Isla Carmen (Part 1)
We’re pulling up the anchor for a week-long adventure as we begin our circumnavigation of the historic Isla Carmen in the Sea of Cortez. This is part one of a two-part series where we explore the rugged coastline of this big island, stopping at breathtaking Baja anchorages along the way.
In this episode, we go ashore to explore a hauntingly beautiful salt mine ghost town, witness some of the most vibrant Sea of Cortez sunsets we’ve ever seen, and dive into some DIY boat repair as we troubleshoot a failing transducer. Just as we were settling into the rhythm of the circumnavigation, disaster struck. We ended our day with a complete power outage on the boat—no lights, no navigation, no power.
