We went from the high of witnessing the 2024 Solar Eclipse to the absolute low of a critical systems failure. In this episode of Noeta, our journey through the Gulf of California takes a terrifying turn when we lose every single piece of navigation electronics on our Nordhavn 50.
No GPS, no chart plotter, no radar, and no autopilot. Being "blind" at sea is every captain’s worst nightmare, and as we sat stumped in the middle of the Sea of Cortez, we had to figure out: What failed? Was it a backbone issue, a lightning strike side-effect, or a simple fuse that nearly ended our trip?
