Things have changed! While we released an "Episode 1" a while back when we lived aboard our Nordhavn 50, life on the water moves fast. We recently made the massive decision to upgrade to a Nordhavn 57, which we found and purchased in Alaska. In this updated introduction video, we’re hitting the "reset" button to share who we are, where we’ve been, and why we’ve shifted our lives onto this 60-ton expedition trawler.
We are Pat and Alexa, and together with our first mate Gilligan (the world's most traveled boat cat), we are full-time liveaboard cruisers. We’ve spent years navigating the Pacific Coast and Mexico, but this new vessel opens up entirely new horizons. From the rugged cold-water beauty of Alaska to the tropical heat of the Sea of Cortez, we’re taking you through our history of boat ownership and our vision for the future on M/V Noeta.
If you’re interested in trawler life, ocean-crossing yachts, or the logistics of moving a boat from Alaska to Mexico, this is our story. Welcome to the new and improved Chapter 1!
In This Episode:
The Transition: Why we moved from a Nordhavn 50 to the Nordhavn 57.
Alaska to Mexico: The story of finding our new home in the Pacific Northwest.
Our Background: How we started our liveaboard adventure and our years in Puerto Vallarta.
Expedition Life: What it’s really like to maintain and cruise a heavy trawler.
What’s Next: Our plans for Mexico and beyond!
