One more item that needed to be replaced… Our batteries. We replaced them in 1995 so they were 22 years of live aboard service. We had bought them from Polar Batteries in Vancouver the brand was DEKA gel batteries, one 8D and one 4D. When we decided to head to Mexico we thought that we should change out our old batteries but didn’t realize until we started researching new gel batteries… we briefly flirted with the idea of changing to AGM or golf cart batteries, but once we realized that we had gotten 22 years of service off our gels we replaced with DEKA gels. Hopefully we will get an equal service life out of our new batteries.
Later Than We Think
Well it is official, Mike and I are heading to Mexico to continue our sailing adventure that we started in 2008. Come this September 2017 we head out to the great blue yonder and point the boat south, first stop will be San Francisco after clearing US customs in Friday Harbour. Look for new videos of our up and coming new adventure. Its Later Than We Think. Angelique of Vancouver came back aboard Dockwise Transport in 2009 and we have been dreaming of returning to the Sea of Cortez and continue our adventure to Panama and the Caribbean
