Day 1 of the U.S. Multihull Championships for the Hobie Alter Cup kicked off in challenging conditions — and for me, it was a steep learning curve.
This was my first time racing the Formula Wave, and it’s a totally different beast compared to the Hobie 16 or Tornado. The conditions were tricky, the setup felt foreign, and my results showed it — but that’s all part of the process.
In this video, I share a quick debrief from Day 1 — what went wrong, what I learned, and what needs to change for Day 2.
It’s an honest look at what it’s like to jump into a new boat, mid-competition, surrounded by America’s best multihull sailors.
