I’ve been working on something a bit special — a rolling spinnaker (or furling gennaker/Code Zero) for the Hobie 16.
This is my first proper test of the setup to see how it behaves on the water — how easily it furls, how it sets, and whether it actually makes sense for day-to-day use on the Hobie.
The idea was to add some extra downwind horsepower – just much easier — no snuffer, no halyard pulling, just roll it out and go. The system uses a continuous furling line and drum mounted at the bowsprit, with the sail rolling away neatly around its own luff.
This test was done in Vasiliki, Greece, in a light breeze — perfect conditions to see if it works.
