Oita to Amami Part One. After a month of questioning my boat and then myself, I set my eyes on finally reaching Amami Oshima. It is the island near Okinawa I set out to sail to two years ago today ( March 4th). I diverted to Mei Prefecture because of a broken Auto Helm. I tried a second time last year and got as far as Southern Kyushu due to volcanic ash flooding the harbors, I was advised not to come. Finally, this is my third attempt.
