Lowell here, kicking off Leg Four of my Journey Beyond the Blue Zone!
After sailing the Ryukyu Islands, the leaving my boat to catch up to the annual Cherry Blossom migration and visiting Japan’s Longevity Hot Spots in Shimane and Nagano, I am now heading north to re-visit a 400 year old symbol of longevity and strength and making a brief stop in Tokyo to meet up with an 80-year-old kickboxer and visit a 400-year-old symbol of strength.
As always, I'm protecting my skin outdoors with Dermalogica Skincare — not to look young, but to stay healthy!
Wish me luck as I chase the cherry blossoms once again. Follow the adventure!

Check out the skin care product I use from Dermologica. The older I get and particularly because I spend so much time out of doors, I have realised the need to take care of my skin, and to my surprise I am enjoying the daily routine.

If you want to check out the Dermalogica products I am using, go to https://dermalogica.jp?sca_ref=781255... . If you choose to order anything, type in: lowell-dermalogica and you will get a 10% discount.

No talking. Only music, memories and a final farewell and wishing Fair Winds At sunset, I watched Wahine from the shoreline one last time. Nagano is stop three of Leg Two of my Top Ten and Bottom Three journey, guided by the True Longevity Index (TLI)™. The Unexpected power of Yamanashi’s Deep-Earth Water 🌍 #japan #health #longevity

Yamanashi is one of the 13 prefectures I am visiting this autumn on my Top Ten and Bottom Three journey, guided by my True Longevity Index (TLI)™. The TLI tells me where to go. Once I arrive, I read, watch, listen and follow the clues. Here, one of those clues is water. Yamanashi treasures the soft,...

Shizuoka Keeps Surprising Me #longevity #japan #healthylifestyle

I’m on Leg Two of my journey through Japan’s Top Ten and Bottom Three longevity prefectures, and Shizuoka keeps giving me reasons to stop. One place stands out for women’s healthy longevity, another calls itself Japan’s healthiest city, another has remarkably low cancer mortality, and here in the m...
