Sailing from Florida to Bahamas on our Seawind 1600 – The Adventure Begins! | Harbors Unknown Ep. 27

After years of research, planning and hard work, the adventure is beginning! We’re leaving Ft. Lauderdale for the Bahamas. First stop, Bimini. Crossing the Gulf Stream this time of year isn’t a problem as long as the wind isn’t blowing from anywhere in the north. The island is just 50 nautical miles from Ft. Lauderdale, yet another world entirely. Crystal clear water, in varying shades of blue, white sand beaches, days spent snorkeling with sharks and sting rays. Join us as we finally arrive in this stunning, natural playground and begin our next act as liveaboard cruisers.

If you’re new here, Harbors Unknown is the story of two dreamers, Kristin and Fabio Potenti, and our French Bulldog dog Yoda. We sold our home at the beginning of the pandemic (May 27th, 2020) and moved aboard our #Seawind1600 #catamaran, Wanderlust, in September. We plan to sail her to Harbors Unknown, and explore the world’s vast cultures through food, a common thread amongst people everywhere. Connecting with people and places through the local cuisine, and showing how those dishes can be cooked on a boat with limited space and resources. We share the adventures of #boatlife and how it’s possible to live an #alternativelifestyle that provides freedom and fulfillment.
