Chapter 2
Sailing North East in blustery conditions up Conception Bay to Baccalieu Tickle, we encounter several pods of humpback whales feeding, in the tickle.
After an overnight stop at Old Perlican we have a fine day sail across Trinity Bay to Ireland’s Eye Island, anchoring in beautiful Traytown Harbour, under the watchful stare of a family of bald eagles.
We take a day to walk the surrounding hills, while I photograph Jayne paints and we search for the missing church.
A fine sail under spinnaker takes us North East up the bay to the fantastic harbor and town of Trinity.
We spend a night at anchor in peaceful Goose Cove at the head of Southwest Arm, then move around to The Dock Marina, from which we explore the town and its historic sites.
