From the cutting room floor!
In this week’s video we DIY’d the heck out of some hatches and refurbished them instead of replacing them. What you didn’t see was a small “repair” of sorts to an aft cabin hatch. The screw heads had broken off of one of the friction hinges allowing a slow leak when it rained. We used some pliers to back the studs out, silicon-sealed the hinge mount, and put new stainless steel screws back in. NO MORE LEAKS!!!

Sailing SV Flow - 2 people, 4 dogs, 0 experience We’re just a couple of middle-aged empty-nesters who are slightly prone to “Oooh-Shiny” Syndrome and sometimes lack the good sense to back down from a challenge. We do live in a near constant state of chaos, but chaos has become our friend and our mentor. Now we’ve really jumped off the deep end (pun definitely intended) and are taking on our biggest challenge yet- we are setting out on a circumnavigation of the globe in our 45' sailboat with our four dogs as unwitting accomplices.
