Watermakers are an essential piece of kit for remote cruising, so we take good care of our Schenker Zen 30. In this boat work episode, Jamie takes us through how he replaces the membranes. But don’t make the same mistake, he nearly lost a nipple in the process!
Like most people, we get to know our neighbours in a boat yard and always have a good nose around. Two sailboats up from us, one was having its topsides vinyl-wrapped, something we had never considered before. The process was cheap, quick, not at all messy. Unlike spray-painting there’s no need for masks or protective clothing and you don’t need to build a tent around the surface to avoid spraying your neighbour. The result looked pretty sweet.
