The Tiny House Song (My Own Tiny Home) – by Emily & Ned: Official Audio

In 2014, tiny house community organizer Elaine Walker had the idea of creating a theme song for the tiny house movement, and putting it to the melody of “Down by the Riverside.” With some modification to the original lyrics and tons of help from my friend Ned, we put together “The Tiny House Song.”

LYRICS

I’m gonna get me a hammer and nails,
build my own tiny home
build my own tiny home
build my own tiny home
I’m gonna get me a hammer and nails,
build my own tiny home
Won’t you come please join me?

I’m never gonna pay a mortgage bill
in my own tiny home
Never gonna take out a loan
for my own tiny home
I’m never gonna pay a mortgage bill
in my own tiny home
Won’t you come please join me?

I’m gonna take home all my pay
so I can retire someday
in a house built for me
I’m gonna take home all my pay
so I can retire someday
Won’t you come please join me?

I’m only gonna keep my favorite things
in my own tiny home
It won’t matter how much I own
in my own tiny home
I’m only gonna keep my favorite things
in my own tiny home
Won’t you come please join me?

And I’ll have happiness and health
and my life will be my wealth
in a house built for me
Yes I’ll have happiness and health
and my life will be my wealth
Won’t you come please join me?

I’ll live with nature in harmony
in my own tiny home
in my own tiny home
in my own tiny home
I’ll live with nature in harmony
in my own tiny home
Won’t you come please join me?

When we live tiny there’s less waste
and the world can be a greener place
Just you wait and see
When we live tiny there’s less waste
and the world can be a greener place
Won’t you come please join me?

And all my neighbors will be my friends
in my own tiny home
Never gonna feel alone
in my own tiny home
Yes, all my neighbors will be my friends
in my own tiny home
Won’t you come please join me?

Just think how happy we could be
in our tiny community
all of us–you and me.
Yes think how happy we could be
in our tiny community
Won’t you come please join me?
