Sailing Adventure: Chase the Story is Tasha Hacker's YouTube Channel, which started as a chronicle of her RTW sailing adventures with her husband on board their FP Helia 44 catamaran, Cheeky Monkey. Within 2 years of buying the new boat, the couple got divorced, Tasha got her Captain's license and US Sailing Instructor's certification and started teaching women to sail in the Caribbean. When pandemic hit, Tasha went back to Lake Tahoe, CA and during lockdown started teaching Women's Sailing courses on Lake Tahoe, CA. She's been trying to figure out what to do next and how to keep empowering more women on boats, teaching others to sail. Sailing around the British Virgin Islands is a dream — it is a cruiser’s paradise with remote islands and white sand beaches, running trails cutting up to the most stunning views of the Caribbean, and it even has the famous Willy T floating bar, just off Norman Island, where sailors and cruisers come from all over to drink it up in the Willy T, take their clothes off and jump off the back of the boat, baring it all for a free t-shirt.
This story gives a taste of what we experienced while sailing around the British Virgin Islands and it highlights some of the things we love most about sailing in the BVIs.
And if you ever get to the Willy T yourself, make sure you bring a camera because it’s guaranteed to be a wild party any day of the week!
