Welcome to Episode 39 of Carpe Diem Sailing. I’m back on my regular posting schedule and in this episode I go over the navigational aids systems in IALA Region A and B. I also dispel the rule of thumb of “Red Right Returning” which only works in half the world and in very specific situations. Best to always consult a chart. I cover the lateral buoys, day-beacons, bifurcation buoys, cardinal buoys, special buoys and talk about navigational ranges. as usual I will have shownotes on our website.
