In today’s episode, we’re going to start by fixing a problem with the dinghy that almost cost Little Richie a finger.
We then move forward to install a new sonar system on our dinghy that allows us to chart the bottom in uncharted areas, making our journey even more thrilling.
Following that, we do a stress test on a one-year-old EcoFlow DELTA Pro system with an expansion battery to see if it’s held up after intense use on our yacht Sophisticated Lady. The system proves to be extremely efficient by providing 90% usable capacity.
After some much-needed rest, we’re now geared up to take our next Discovery sailing crew on their first overnight ocean expedition from Panama to the southern islands of Colombia.
Throughout our journey, we encounter exciting adventures such as facing a steering issue in the dinghy that leads to a DIY solution using black tubing for the steering cable, and discovering a hidden diving site near Pablo Escobar’s former mansion.
But the best moment of the passage is hands down the breathtaking view of a full moon night, surrounded by clear skies and dolphins joining our ride.
To summarize, an overnight passage is always an exciting endeavor. It teaches us invaluable lessons about teamwork and perseverance in overcoming the unforeseen challenges that come with open-water sailing.
