Testing the Newly Built Solar Sun Shade on Captain Rick Mooreu2019s Boat

Captain Rick Moore, known for his insightful water adventure videos, showcases yet another exciting project in a recent episode where he tests a new Solar Sun Shade. This innovative solar-powered shade is designed to provide efficient sun protection and enhance the overall comfort onboard during sunny days.

Onboard Demonstration

The demonstration involved two capable women u2013 one who is 30 years old and the other in their early 40s u2013 showing off their sailing skills by closing the main sail amidst strong 20-knot winds. Their effortless demonstration highlights how efficient they are with tasks that boating enthusiasts perform on a regular basis. The Purpose of Solar Sun Shade The purpose of the solar sun shade is to ensure the boat stays cool when sunlight is not directly hitting it and also to stop the sunshade from flipping in the wind if the wind gets a hold of it. The solar panels, placed strategically around the structure, work together to produce a total output of 800 watts.

Performance Test

To test the solar sun shadeu2019s efficiency, Captain Moore chose a sunny morning with limited wind. As per his observation, they managed to put out about 50 watts even when there was little sunlight on the panels. The voltage remained steady at 8 AM, which is quite impressive.

Solar Power Station Showdown

Besides showcasing his latest invention, Captain Rick Moore conducted a showdown between top contenders in the small power station category. These included Ecoflow River 2 Pro, Bluetti AC180, and B RV which went through various tests and demonstrations to showcase their abilities.

Features Compared

The power stations were compared based on their portability, expandable features, power output capacity, and charging efficiency. The Bluetti AC180 was crowned the top contender for its numerous functions such as continuous power output for its size, weight ratio, built-in charger, and app control.

Improving the Nav Station

Not just sailing improvements but Captain Rick Moore also showcased his skills in enhancing personal comfort and organization. By installing a new expansion on his nav station, he made space for his keyboard for the new computer setup which added to his ease of operation during long voyages.

A New Addition to the Boat

In conclusion, Captain Rick Mooreu2019s innovative solar sun shade addition to his boat not only brings aesthetic changes but provides functional benefits like better protection against strong winds and sunshine. With tests proving its efficiency in providing shelter even under challenging conditions, this development becomes an essential asset for the boat and its occupants.
