Thanks again for all your support in achieving this goal of replacing our engine with a brand new 85Hp Turbo Diesel engine from BETA MARINE USA!
The first sea trials went perfectly today, no problems found, and smooth as silk so we spent a couple hours chilling in the beautiful turquoise waters of Haynes Cay here in San Andres, Colombia, before returning to anchor for the first time in over a month!
Thanks again also to Lewmar for helping with our anchor winch replacement, first tests today were wildly successful! (after we remembered to turn the power switch back on!) Lol
Cheers!

Captain Morgan Hid His Gold in This Cave | SSL781
Everyone on San Andrés will tell you Captain Henry Morgan hid his gold in a cave on the west side of the island. The cave is real. The gold has never been found — and the ship it was supposedly on broke apart on a reef in Panama in 1671. This week Sophisticated Lady is anchored in Seaflower, the sam...
We Couldn’t Slow Down — Squalls from San Blas to San Andrés | SSL780
Yesterday turquoise meant danger under the keel. Today the danger was the sky. We left San Blas under a wall of rain, ran a thrill ride of squalls and following seas into Linton Bay — then the next morning pointed at San Andrés. 27 hours. About 9 knots average. Surfing past 10 when the ocean picked...

SAN BLAS Panama — The Reefs That Sink Boats Here | SSL779
The San Blas Islands are one of the most beautiful places we have ever sailed. They are also one of the most technically demanding. Over 100 kilometres of coral reef protects this archipelago — and that same reef has ended a lot of sailing dreams. After 28 hours of open Caribbean, we arrived in Gun...
SSL776 ~ First Overnight Test after Refit.. How did She perform?
After almost a year on the hard, Sophisticated Lady is back where she belongs — offshore, under full sail, heading somewhere extraordinary. We pulled anchor from the stunning Rosario Islands of Colombia at dawn and pointed the bow toward one of the most legendary sailing destinations on the planet:...
