Today we took a ride through the harbour inside the Panama Canal and visited the Shipwreck graveyard… If those ships could talk I’ll be there’d be some good stories! After that we found out from ePropulsion that there must be a problem with our electric drive system as they said we should be going faster than 6.5kts at full power, so they recommended we switched to one of the other propellors they sent us for testing… who would have thought that we’d gain an additional 50% boat speed just with a different prop!

We Couldn’t Slow Down — Squalls from San Blas to San Andrés | SSL780
Yesterday turquoise meant danger under the keel. Today the danger was the sky. We left San Blas under a wall of rain, ran a thrill ride of squalls and following seas into Linton Bay — then the next morning pointed at San Andrés. 27 hours. About 9 knots average. Surfing past 10 when the ocean picked...

SAN BLAS Panama — The Reefs That Sink Boats Here | SSL779
The San Blas Islands are one of the most beautiful places we have ever sailed. They are also one of the most technically demanding. Over 100 kilometres of coral reef protects this archipelago — and that same reef has ended a lot of sailing dreams. After 28 hours of open Caribbean, we arrived in Gun...
