Solo sailing is a ton of fun. Today I set out on my first solo sail of the season. The weather has been crap so I am taking advantage of a nice afternoon. And feeling lucky!
Sailing a 38 foot sailboat solo can be a challenge but if you think things through, and take things slowly (like coming into your mooring, raising your sails, prepping the boat, etc.), it really shouldn't be very difficult. Of course weather can play a factor, and if your boat isn't set up for sailing solo, you will not have a good time! If you're new to solo sailing, watch your weather carefully, pick a good day and an easy destination (or distance), and ease yourself into it. After you do this once or twice, your confidence will go through the roof!
Enjoy this sail with me out into Penobscot Bay!
