Our shakedown cruise of the 2023 season on the old Morgan 382 was a ball and had a bit of everything. We finally get our mast stepped, the boat provisioned, and off the mooring for our shakedown cruise and overnight. We venture to Pulpit Harbor, North Haven, Maine, avoiding some passing storm cells along the way. We meet up with our pal, Cape Dory Carlton, who owns a Cape Dory 30, for some oysters, cocktails, and dinner. We get an impressive sunset and a nice surprise the next morning when the captain from the schooner, Stephen Taber, delivers us a delicious (second) breakfast! It was very generous and kind. And it was fantastic! There was no wind for our return sail so we had to motor, but it's good to run your iron lung for awhile from time to time!
