In this episode, Island Hunting & Absolute Blast On The Morgan 382, we take our job on the road, er sea, and head off to appraise an island. One of the reasons we bought the Morgan 382 was to use it to appraise islands and island properties. The three of us have been appraising real estate in the mid-coast Maine market for 19 years - so it's been fun using the boat to get out to these places that are not necessarily accessible by ferry boat or plane. This is one of those places. So, we took the day to go find it, appraise it, and stay in a cool cove for the night and sail back the next day. All in we sailed 42 miles - which isn't a lot for many people but it was the farthest we'd sailed the Morgan 382 since we bought her in 2022. And we learned some valuable lessons about sailing her in heavy air - which we definitely experienced. Not only did we have a front system come through in the night (which we were expecting), we also had a really gusty northwesterly on the way back. Some great sailing! Enjoy!
