As we settled into our new anchorage in St. Croix, we had time to do just 2 days of exploring and THEN we noticed a storm brewing off the coast of Africa heading our way. Invest 92L went from a small blip on the radar to a potential hurricane that was forecast to head straight toward us. After several hours of looking over weather and talking it through we decided to make a RUN for it. We saw an opportunity for a good weather window, so we were packing up and leaving the next day.

WE LEARNED A LOT from that trip. After that trip our families pitched in and got us an Iridium GO, so we would have tracking, communication and most importantly to us, WEATHER. Especially with a storm growing and heading our way, we would be able to have fair warning on if we needed to head in a different direction while out running this thing.
We are grateful to everyone that has helped us out along the way, especially thankful for our families for giving us such a great gift of a peace of mind as we watch this storm head toward us as we sail into the open sea.
