Wet and WILD Eleuthera | AHOD 88
May 26, 2024 by All Hahns on Deck | Language: EN Play Time: 00:16:55 | SAILING YOUTUBERS

Christian Allgeier invites Kirsten, her parents Don and Sue, on a Bahamian adventure aboard their Bohemian, s/v All in Good Time. The crew picks up Don and Sue from Spanish Wells before setting sail for the Exumas where they spend a good amount of time exploring the island’s pristine waters and beaches.
Sailing to Eleuthera Island
They leave the Exumas and head towards Rock Sound in Eleuthera, a passage where they’re joined by an entire pod of dolphins. During their trip, Christian Allgeier talks about the historic Anglican and Baptist roots in The Bahamas, as well as the Catholic influence that came later.
Discovering Cathedral Caves
The crew explores some caves along the way, including the magnificent Cathedral Caves. These cave systems are filled with large air chambers that house entire trees and let in natural light. It is truly a breathtaking sight!
Enjoying Governor’s Harbor
Their next stop is Governor’s Harbor where they explore the quaint town, and take in some shopping and provisions.
Back to Spanish Wells
The group leaves Eleuthera and returns to Spanish Wells, where they drop off Don and Sue. Throughout their adventure, the crew had been flying only a jib and the mizzen sail, but missed having their main up during downwind sailing.
Fishing
In this episode, Andy and dad put out fishing line just 30 seconds later they catch a fish. The crew decides to fillet the mutton snapper they caught. Kirsten manages to cook it on stove, with some added cayenne for spiciness.
Visiting Queen’s Bath
The final stops include the queen baths in Eleuthera which Christian considers their favorite spot in all of The Bahamas. These tidal pools, formed over centuries by crashing ocean waves, are heated up by the sun and become a beautiful oasis for travelers.
Glass Window Bridge
Christian and family also visited the famous Glass Window Bridge. Though it lacks the platform visitors would expect, it still offers stunning views of the clear turquoise waters that surround Eleuthera.
Overall, the trip to Eleuthera proved to be another unforgettable adventure for the Allgeier family and their guests.
Kirstin's parents, Don and Sue, continue their trip aboard our 1980 Gulfstar 50, Magic Dragon. We started the trip by sailing from Spanish Wells in Northern Eleuthera to the Exumas. There, we explored many incredible things including Thunderball Grotto, the Staniel Cay Pigs, and the Allen Cay Iguanas. But now it's time to start the return trip. We sailed from Highborne Cay in the Exumas back to Rock Sound in southern Eleuthera. We hope to check out the Cathedral Caves and then stop by a couple of old favorites in the Glass Window Bridge and the Queen's Baths.
Thank you for joining in the adventure.
Much loves,
Kirstin & Andy
(PS - sorry this week is a day late)
