Celebrating her BIRTHDAY on TAHITI
Today marks a very special day as we celebrate one of our crew member’s birthdays! This particular birthday was extra special as they chose to spend it in the beautiful turquoise waters of the Bahamas.
The Journey from Linyard Key
We started our journey from the breathtaking Linyard Key, a gem tucked away in the Abacos islands. After spending a few relaxing days exploring the key and enjoying its pristine beaches, we felt recharged and ready to continue our voyage northward.
Sailing Off Anchor
In what was perhaps one of our best achievements yet, we successfully sailed off anchor, nearly the whole way without the use of our engine. With sails up and wind at our backs, we glided smoothly through the crystal-clear waters.
Exploring Angel Key
Our sail led us to the beautiful waters surrounding Angel key. This secluded paradise offered a chance to dive into its vibrant marine life through snorkeling adventures. Though we encountered strong currents, it added an exciting challenge to our exploration.
Tahiti Beach Birthday Celebration
The main attraction for this special day was none other than the renowned Tahiti Beach. A brief 3-mile sail led us there, with water conditions allowing our journey to be relatively short and peaceful. We were eager to indulge in some beach fun and enjoy a unique birthday celebration.
Unforgettable Beach Day
As we approached Tahiti Beach, we were met with idyllic conditions – flat sea, beautiful winds, and that quintessential Bahamian sun. The atmosphere was reminiscent of a Miami beach party, offering us a unique contrast to the secluded nature of other islands.
Indulging in Birthday Traditions
To make the experience even more memorable, we stumbled upon a charming food boat that catered to our beach-side indulgence. A choice between a high-end steakhouse or this quaint island dining setup proved to be an easy decision – as we relished in our tropical feast of sliders and fries under the palm trees.
The Perfect Birthday Celebration
Reflecting on our journey, it was undeniable that this birthday celebration would be hard to beat. Sailing across crystal-clear waters, exploring vibrant marine life, and reveling in a tropical feast were elements of an unforgettable day.
And thus, another episode in the All Hahns on Deck series came to an end with cherished memories made and new adventures anticipated. Will you be making your way to these enchanting islands for your next special occasion?
We continue to relax and recover in the Abacos after a very busy sailing season in the Bahamas. We say goodbye to Lynyard Cay, check out Tilloo Cay, and then celebrate Kirstin's birthday at the world-famous Tahiti Beach.
