*This video is meant to start an intelligent conversation about where we get our food from. And to show a new perspective on what’s possible, from someone who is actively living it.*
For more than a decade I’ve enjoyed sustainably harvesting my food from the ocean through spearfishing. Something that connects me to the ocean, as well as feeds me. But many people out there hate this zero by-catch fishing method for emotional reasons. This video is for them! Meant to help inform those who think they’re morally superior for shopping at a grocery store. Rather than harvesting & returning directly to nature.
Compared to someone who shops at a grocery store. My food fresh from the ocean requires:
-No packaging(plastic, paper, cardboard, etc.)
-No long distance transportation(Semi trucks driving across the country.)
-No waste from expiring on the shelf(Caught and consumed immediately.)
-No added preservatives or hormones(No need it’s fresh!)
-I’m not taking away their natural living space(All farmland used to be a natural home for animals.)
-Everything is used and returned back to it’s natural environment quickly(That’s the beauty of living on the sea.)
Can you say the same things about where you get your food?
I hope this video shows you new perspectives and alternate ways you might approach your own lifestyle. Thanks!
