After having my 38′ sailboat “Adventureborne” on the hard at Riverside Boatyard for seven months. Working away nearly everyday. I can give a simple review of the boatyard.

The Good:
-Can do anything yourself there!
-Cheap! $400 for my 38′ sailboat.
-Actually very safe. I’ve never had anything stolen. But you should not leave anything out.
-Sally’s employees are very helpful if you’re respectful. I got some great advice from several of them.
-VERY close to two major boat supply stores.
-On the ICW, and very close to the Fort Pierce inlet to the Atlantic ocean.
-Good bunch of other DIY sailors there who can be a wealth of information.

The Bad:
-Bathrooms are opened at 8-9am ish. And close at 4:30-5pm. No one is done working by then!
-Have to connect many extension cords together to reach your boat. They often get run over and break.
-Water is just like extension cords, but the water is pretty gross. ONLY for washing boats.
-Things have been stolen there on other peoples boats in the past. Usually boats that were unattended for a long time and parked away from other active boats.

Final Thoughts:
All in all, I think Riverside(through Sally) is a great, cheap boatyard to do all your own work. IF, you’re self sufficient and don’t need to rely on anyone. This is the perfect yard for you, as it was for me. If you prefer the everything clean and have the $$$. There are better options for you.
