We covered a general plan for the interior in a breezy way a few weeks ago in a bonus video (https://youtu.be/RDxneIM3M8c), but now that a few things are in place and the vision came into focus, Carolyn drew a scaled layout plan that is approaching some semblance of “complete.” As she and Steve do a virtual walkthrough of the details… is that… A WORKBENCH?!
Finally unboxing the head and the deck prisms was exciting. We are ever so thankful to the people who have been donating funds to the wish list and made it possible for us to receive key interior items just about on time for when we’ll need them. We’re working on a special interior project presently for which there are a few new things on the list. Check it out: https://www.acorntoarabella.com/wishlistpriority
Norna is a Danish-built, lapstrake, heavy-scantling cruising boat that our friends Kourtney Patterson and Pete Grundvig have been living aboard for the last 20 years. These Floridians have done a North Atlantic circumnavigation, and now they spend their summers in Maine. You might remember Pete and Kourtney coming to visit and help with Arabella when they’ve passed through on their way north or south—and it was Kourtney who burned Carolyn’s dragon into the bilge stringers. Check out Kourtney’s videos here: https://www.youtube.com/user/AccidentalSailorGirl They love their AirHead, and it was neat to see their installation and hear a few pointers from them… right on time.
We hope you enjoyed this week’s video, which is heavy on adventure. It is a sweet reminder of things to come, and all the places we’ll take Arabella. Thanks for watching and for your support.

Acorn to Arabella is a boat building project taking place in Granby, Massachusetts. Steve and Alix started as amateur boat builders building their own 38′ wooden boat in their backyard: designer William Atkin’s Ingrid with a Stormy Petrel’s gaff rig. These videos follow the journey from tree felling, to lumber milling, to lofting, to the lead keel pour and beyond—sharing details of the woodworking, carpentry, metal smithing, tool building, and tool maintenance that wooden boats command. This ultimate DIY project will continue well past launch, when they will travel and learn to cruise aboard the boat that they’ve built. Just kidding about all that, this channel is about a Siberian Laika named Akiva.
