We thought the hardest part was behind us… but our journey south was about to get off to a pretty dramatic start! ⛵
After a hailstorm, some emotional goodbyes and finally leaving Brisbane behind, we were ready to begin the next chapter of our sailing adventure. But just as we thought we could relax, the bilge alarm started going off! 😳
With water in the bottom of the boat, wet gear to deal with and a surprise midnight storm that nearly left us aground, this was definitely not the peaceful start to our journey we had imagined!
After a few nights at Tipplers, we headed into Gold Coast City Marina for a week of work, boat jobs and tackling our very salty locker. But once we were back out on the water, we remembered exactly why we chose this lifestyle.
Now it's time to head south towards Yamba, with one more crew member joining us along for the journey.
