This is why we Cruise! Ep.21

Hi everyone,

This week we sail from Scawfell Island to Great Keppel Island, east coast of Australia. It's been quite a few weeks of average weather so we were pleasantly surprised that the journey was pretty smooth sailing (Well smooth for the average person, not for the newly pregnant!).

We were happy to finally find some nice weather at Great Keppel Island, places and days like this make cruising worthwhile!!

Thank you for joining us. If you enjoy please let us know, and hit the like button.

Embarking on a Family Boating Adventure

A Life Awry Sailing showcases Leanne, Kieran, and little Jack’s incredible journey as they depart from the Kles and head towards Harvey Bay in this captivating boating adventure. Follow along as they tackle the challenges of sailing while enjoying moments of excitement and relaxation.

The Departure From the Kles

With a four to five-day weather window on their side, Leanne, Kieran, and Jack are eager to leave the scores harbor after spending six days there. As they set sail just after 6 AM, they hope for favorable winds as they round the northern side of the island. Their main goal is to reach Kles and assess the wind conditions before deciding on their next move.

Overcoming Obstacles

Determined to avoid using their engine as much as possible, they motor sail while facing challenging winds and currents. The family takes turns keeping watch and entertaining Jack, who’s full of energy and eager to explore.

Thriving Despite Adversity

The family endures tough weather conditions but continues to enjoy their journey. When they finally make it to Gr Capal Island, the weather improves and they are able to relax, swim at the beach, and explore the area before continuing on their adventure.

Preparations for Future Challenges

As Leanne’s pregnancy progresses, she begins to feel more anxious, while Kieran and Jack stay excited about the journey ahead. They continue on towards Harvey Bay with a plan to spend a week there before heading further south towards Brisbane within three weeks.

Time for Expansion

The family eagerly awaits the arrival of their new addition and anticipates how it will impact their boating adventures. The bond between Jack and his soon-to-be sibling strengthens, making the entire journey even more special.

Encouraging Others to Explore

This captivating sailing adventure inspires viewers to embrace their own outdoor pursuits and never stop exploring. By sharing their challenges, triumphs, and everyday moments, Leanne and Kieran remind us all that even in difficult circumstances, life is an exciting journey.
