Jasper’s Fraser River: Class 3+ Whitewater Rafting Adventure

Take on the biggest whitewater in the Jasper area on an exhilarating Class 3+ rafting adventure down the mighty Fraser River. As the only Jasper company licensed to raft the Fraser, we’ll take you into British Columbia, where your river adventure begins with views of Mount Robson—the highest peak in the Canadian Rockies. Paddle through large rolling rapids, portage around impressive Rearguard Falls, then tackle some of the trip’s biggest whitewater in the lower canyon. No previous rafting experience is required—first-time and experienced rafters alike can work together with their guide to take on the rapids. Finish with a gentler float and an optional swim, and in late summer, keep an eye out for spawning salmon making their way up the Fraser.

• Participants must be at least 12 years old and weigh a minimum of 90 lb (41 kg).
• Participants under 18 must be accompanied by an adult parent or guardian.
• No previous rafting experience is required.
• Wear a swimsuit under your regular clothes to make changing into rafting gear easier. Bring a towel and warm clothing for afterward, plus water and a snack for the return journey.
• All necessary rafting equipment is provided, including wetsuits, paddle jackets, life jackets, helmets and neoprene booties. On colder days, bring a fleece, wool or other non-cotton layer to wear under your paddle jacket.
• Trips depart rain or shine.
• Check in 15 minutes before your scheduled departure at the white Maligne Rafting van in the public parking lot at the corner of Connaught Drive and Hazel Avenue (638 Connaught Drive, Jasper).
• All departure and check-in times are in Alberta Mountain Time (MT).
• Not recommended for travelers with back injuries or conditions that may be aggravated by whitewater rafting.
• Minimum participant numbers apply. If minimum numbers are not met, you will be offered an alternative departure or a full refund.
• Raft assignments are determined by guides on the day based on group size and operating conditions. We make every effort to keep parties together in the same raft, though occasionally this may not be possible.

Important Information

• CHECK-IN: Check in 15 minutes before your scheduled departure at the white Maligne Rafting van in the public parking lot at the corner of Connaught Drive and Hazel Avenue (638 Connaught Drive, Jasper). Look for the van parked near the public washrooms, opposite the Shell gas station.

• All participants must sign a liability waiver before departure.

• Wear a swimsuit under your regular clothes to make changing into rafting gear easier. Bring a towel and warm clothing for afterward, plus water and a snack for the return journey.

• Trips depart rain or shine. We provide wetsuits, paddle jackets, life jackets, helmets and neoprene booties, plus additional neoprene layers when needed.

• On colder days, bring a fleece, wool or other non-cotton layer to wear under your paddle jacket. Do not wear cotton underneath your rafting gear.

• Participants must be at least 12 years old and weigh a minimum of 90 lb (41 kg).

• Participants under 18 must be accompanied by an adult parent or guardian.

• This activity is not recommended during pregnancy or for travelers with back injuries or conditions that may be aggravated by whitewater rafting.

• All departure and check-in times are in Alberta Mountain Time (MT).

• Allow approximately 5 hours for the complete trip. Return times are approximate and may vary due to traffic, road or park entrance conditions.

• Minimum participant numbers are required for this trip to operate. If minimum numbers are not met, you will be offered an alternative departure or a full refund.

• Raft assignments are determined by guides on the day based on group size and operating conditions. We make every effort to keep parties together in the same raft, though occasionally this may not be possible.

• Pets are not permitted on rafting trips. If you are travelling with a service animal, please contact us in advance.
