Well people, FINALLY, it arrived!
The MOVE OUT of Mistress’ boat yard date AND THE LAUNCH DATE!!
THIS IS MASSIVE NEWS!! I have been wondering for YEARS, just WHEN that “POINTY END” time was going to come, which would be the signal and trigger for things to RAMP UP, where I get into a whole other overdrive gear to get all the necessary and as many other things done in order to MOVE OUT and MOVE ON, FINALLY, to get Mistress to the water!
EVERYTHING has now got VERY busy, beyond inside the boatyard and I am definitely sporting a different mindset!! Making these dates has set in motion THE knock on/snowball effect of many other things now needing to be booked in, secured and organised!
I also get the epoxy undercoat and PU top coating done to all of the V berth panels and pieces and then get them all installed and they have definitely come up both much better than I anticipated AND are a WAY better design compared to what I was originally going to do!
Mistress is designed by one of the highly respected Dutch naval architects E.G. Van de Stadt, a Caribbean design, length 40ft/12m, beam 13ft/3.9m, draft 5ft/1.5m. Her hull and decks are built in mild steel and I have built her on my own and am also fitting her out on my own. I have not built any type of boat before Mistress.
There were many reasons why, but the work stopped,…
However, the work has re-started, thankfully, and I am on an exciting journey to finish Mistress and then go on my sailing adventures,…
I hope that you can join along with me!
