We sold our house, bought a sailboat and are exploring the incredible cruising area on Canada's west coast. Catherine and I are grateful to be living, working and playing, in the traditional territories of Skwxwu7mesh (Squamish) Indigenous People. We sail on a 2014 Hanse 415. Based out of Squamish, British Columbia Canada, we are in love with sailing and can't wait to experience all the West Coast has to offer. Our first Barlovento Sailing instalment is a little clumsy but we’ll get there! In this video, we introduce our family, our community, and our first boat, an Ericson 29 named Saluki. The video ends with our first encounter with orcas while at anchor. A very exciting moment for all on board. Our next episode will focus on our process for purchasing our new boat, a Hanse 415 named Barlovento.
