Today the epoxy on the functional mock up of the drum winch had cured. I shaped it and screwed the pieces together.
I tried several positions. Unfortunatially it took up to much space.
Hindsight is 20 20.
I only needed 50 – 60 cm more 2 feet. If I had squesed a bit I could have built a boat that much longer and even got it out and of the workshop.
It is al about balance.
Now I will find a different solution.
I was not able to find a 6 mm stainless 316 short linked chain 20 meter long. The price was to much.
Luckily I got a very good price on a 8 mm 12 meter long stainless 316. That is about the same weight. The 8 mm chain is on its way.
One reason for stainless is that it has a much smother surface compared to galvanized. That means that the aft hawse pipe do not have to slope so much
