It took just about two weeks to get Karl ready to leave the marina and to be back on the hook. A huge thanks goes out to Maria from www.sailjoana.com, who helped me to finally get the engine started again and taught me lots of other nifty little tricks aro...
Another small step: the first border crossed with KARL! Finally, we arrived in Colombia and explored the nice countryside. People were being super friendly and we enjoyed some nice and calm days in and around Sapzurro.

KARL & me are heading east along the coast towards Colombia, stopping here and there at some more remote Kuna villages. Savouring the freshest seafood and dealing with the so called "culo de pollos" (squalls) that blow through here every week.

After leaving Shelter Bay behind for real, I am now enjoying a cruiser's life at anchor in Puerto Lindo. There are still a couple of small projects that I am working on, but at least there is water all around me and I don't have any marina bills piling up....
Finally, Untie The Lines becomes more than just the name of this video documentary. Karl and me have left Shelter Bay behind for real and we are on our way to sail the word. Or at least to Puerto Lindo first.
There was not much wind, but still it felt gre...

Big progress on the project list this week. I finally got Karl's holes welded. It was quite exciting and I am really happy that it is done.
I also started to use some paint remover to go down to bare aluminum so it will be easier to apply the etch primer....
The welder will come next week and I used the time for some other projects on the endless to do list. I widened the through-hull for my new depth sounder and went on a hunt for more corrosion from the inside. And I used my oven for the first time: with fre...
