The boatyard blocked our sailboat wrong, and that lead to the hull "oil-canning." I had to go in and fix the way the boat was blocked, and then Randi and I started sanding the hull in preparation for bottom paint.

When bonding two pieces of wood together using epoxy and fiberglass, technique will make all the difference. Properly using epoxy fillets will ensure that there is little stress present in the corner which will produce a much stronger joint.

Turns out, fiberglass work is challenging AND entertaining. The boys rip out all the vinyl and scrape off every inch of adhesive, then cut a hole in the boat to repair a soft spot in the deck.
