Last week was quite intense for us – meeting friends, Cannes Yachting Festival, we met few followers there and quite stormy weather – so now we are very happy to slow down and relax a little bit… We go for a leisurely stroll on Ile Saint-Margueritte – one of 2 small islands just south of Cannes, where we visit Fort Royalle and the famous prison – where The Man in the Iron Mask was imprisoned. His true identity as well as why he was imprisoned for 34 years till his death remains a mystery to this day…
Then we sail to St. Tropez and explore around. Maybe our expectations were too high, but Port Grimaud right next to St. Tropez was very charming and reminded Venice.
Then we do a “AMEL mandatory” stop – Hyeres, where’s AMEL office is situated and our last destination in France – only a few miles away from Hyeres – the beautiful nature reserve Porquerolles, quiet and pristine, with very little development but lots of charm, where we spend a couple of days waiting for the winds to sail to Sapin.
We had such a lovely time in France… Thank you, France!
