I guess now we can add working with Corian to our ever-growing list of boat refit skills

If you've never used it before (and we hadn't), Corian is composed of acrylic resin and natural minerals.
It's harder than a lot of other materials we'd worked with (think of a cross between perspex and stone), meaning tools need to be sharp.
It requires its own special glue when fixing it to itself, and as we discovered its own special glue gun.
It's a pretty cool finish used widely on countertops and splash backs in regular homes because of its practicalities.
Although it can be dented and scratched it's easily repairable.
So far, we're very happy with how it's shaping up aboard the good ship Brilliant II, where it's being installed as a replacement to old laminate.
