Rudder Cay - “The Musician”
Snorkeled over to the famous “Musician” sculpture at Rudder Cut Cay today and it felt like discovering a secret underwater concert hall. 🎹🌊
Installed in 2011 by underwater sculptor Jason deCaires Taylor and commissioned by David Copperfield, the mermaid and piano sit about 15 feet below the surface. The sculpture was designed to slowly become a living reef, with coral and marine life growing over it over time.
The kids had the best time pretending to “play the piano” underwater, while fish swam through the keys. One of those magical Exuma moments that feels like a hidden treasure beneath the sea. 🧜♀️🐠
